August and what an August for the harvest of our crops

Wednesday 3rd August


Small pumpkins are beginning to peep through huge green leaves

Pumpkins have plants have taken over


Flower bed is looking so colorful, gladiolus so beautiful, so erect and so colourful


Brightens up the rooms.


AND today we took home 
Green Courgettes                                3kg 500
Yellow Courgettes                               1kg 100
Potatoes  from the old bed                      600g
Potatoes we had planted                   3kg 700
Red and white onions                        3kg 700

What an amazing harvest.

Our daughter visited for the first time and she was so amazed at what has been achieved in such a short space of time. She could not believe the courgette harvest.

Small pumpkin picking..
The pumpkin growth is like a field of it's own they have grown like the triffids and there is no stopping them spreading in all directions. This is just a result to 5 plants.

18th August



Dave bought a wheelie bin full of pony poo…and we piled it onto the bed that we had covered in plastic this year to keep out the weeds. 

It is hard work collecting the PP and it is equally hard work spreading it, Mr S does not mind.

20th August
The strawberries have not really worked in the strawberry tower, maybe because we lined the tower. Decided to pull them out and put them straight into a new bed.

29th August 
Another day at the LG

Lovely sunny day, some tidying up and some harvesting of potatoes and of course courgettes.

Most of the potatoes are from what the previous LG owner a whole bed potatoes.
