August 6th-7th

What next...

The beetroot did well, although I had only put a few seeds in this year. All the beet is now out and I have made sweet and chilli chutney, have roasted the beet with goats' cheese, all so tasty.
The bed is now being used to plant more beetroot that I had germinated  the conservatory.

Small beetroot shoots, I hope they take to the ground.

Tomtaoes

Broccoli

Beans. Well, they have taken a long time to get to this stage. These are and supposed to be a yard long. At the moment nothing, and no flowers yet either. I may or may not be successful.

                                                      Lot more blackberries being picked...

and more courgettes....

Courgette and potato fritters are easy to make.

Courgette and potato fritters are so quick to make and don’t require any planning or prep work in advance.

2 small courgettes

1 small onion chopped

1-2 medium sized boiled potatoes

¼ cup of all-purpose flour or garam flour

1 teaspoon salt,

1 teaspoon garam masala

I green chilli finely chopped – optional

Small handful of fresh coriander leaves

¼ cup vegetable oil

Method

Grate the courgette

In a large bowl, roughly mash the potato

Add all other ingredients and combine them well

Heat 1 – 2 Tablespoons of oil in a non-stick frying pan over medium heat.

Take a small amount of mixture in the palm of your hand and flatten to small fritter size.

Cook for about 3-4 minutes on both side until golden brown
