August another harvest

August 21st

Everything so much overgrown and today was a tidy up time.

Spinach gone to seed.
Sweetcorn took off really well and grew to be healthy plants.

Looking good

Someone else also like the sweetcorn

Enjoying my sweetcorn, is it mice or squirrels
I will never know who the predator is attacking my sweetcorn. They are peeled through the layers and eaten when no human is around.

Squash ready for soup

These squashes are doing well

Summer and winter squash
One lonely pumpkin

Yellow courgette
Edamame beans

When shelled

Artichoke flowers look so colourful and beautiful

Borlotti Beans

So fresh and delicious beans

Yellow and red raspberries

Apple and pear tree. the apple tree is full of fruit. This is the first year,

The pear tree has about 6 pears on it.

Strawberry bed has gone feral

This is the asparagus bed. It's in the second year, it will be another two years before we can harvest asparagus.
Due to lack of rain this season, the soil is so hard to dig. Well, it has to dug and the weeds have to pulled out.
